WHAT WE BUILT
From Three Booking Systems to One
Unified Travel Marketplace
Third-Party API Integration at Scale
We integrated APIs from three separate third-party booking systems and unified their data into a single structured format. Pulling together over 16,000 tours and activities into one browsable platform required us to build a data pipeline that could handle volume without breaking the user experience on the front end.
Location-Based Tour Discovery
We built smart algorithms that surface tours based on the user’s current location and time zone. Users can find what is available around them right now – not just what is listed in a general catalogue – which is central to the last-minute booking proposition.
Three-Click Booking Flow
We designed the entire booking journey to be completed in three clicks. From discovery to confirmation, every step was stripped back to what was essential – active type, region, date, time, number of people, and price – so users could book without friction regardless of how little time they had.
Scalable Backend with CMS and RDMS
We built a robust backend that includes a CMS to correct data mismatches from third-party sources and a well-structured relational database to manage large-scale tour data efficiently. The backend was designed from the start to scale as the number of operators, tours, and users grows.

PLATFORM FEATURES
What We Built to Make Last-Minute
Travel Booking Fast and Effortless
A Discovery Experience Built Around the Traveler
We built the tour discovery flow around how travelers actually think – by what they want to do, when they want to do it, and where they are. Users can browse tours available today or tomorrow, follow activity interests like Hiking, Kayak, or Plane Ride, and set up a vacation profile with dates and region so the platform surfaces relevant tours automatically. Every filter and preference feeds into a single, unified discovery experience.
Date, Region, and Seat Selection in One Flow
We built the trip planning flow so users can select a start and end date, choose a region or city, and see available seats – all from a single screen. Start and end times are shown alongside seat counts so users have everything they need to commit to a booking without going back and forth between screens.
Location-Aware Discovery Engine
We built a location-aware discovery engine that surfaces available tours based on where the user is at any given moment. Rather than browsing a static catalogue, users can shift instantly to seeing only what is reachable and available in their immediate area.
Multi-Variable Filter System
We built a filter system that lets users narrow tours by active type, region, time of day, number of people, and price range. Filters work across the full catalogue of 16,000+ tours so users always land on results that match their specific situation rather than scrolling through irrelevant listings.
Fast Booking Flow with Live Availability
We built the booking flow around speed and clarity. Each tour listing shows ratings, price, distance, and time until start – giving users everything they need to decide and book in one view. A single point of action moves them straight to confirmation without unnecessary steps.
Interest-Based Activity Matching
We built an interest-following system that lets users select the types of activities they care about – from Hiking and Kayak to Food and Drink and Horse Drawn Carriage. The platform uses these preferences to tailor what tours are surfaced, making discovery faster and more relevant for each user.
Vacation Profile and Date Planning
We built a vacation planner that lets users set a trip title, select a region and city, and define start and end dates. Once saved, the platform uses these details to surface relevant tour offers throughout the vacation window – reducing the need to re-enter preferences on every visit.
Digital Ticket Generation
We built digital ticket generation directly into the booking confirmation flow. Once a tour is booked, users receive a ticket with all relevant details – tour name, date, and location – accessible within the platform so they have everything they need without printing anything.

We used native mobile platforms alongside React and Node.js to deliver a fast,
data-heavy travel marketplace that works consistently across web, iOS, and Android.
What Our Client Says
We’ve been working with Intuz for just under two years now. They’ve been a real business partner from the start – they helped us plan out really what we wanted to build from the ground up. Our back end pulls together APIs from three third-party booking systems and it brings together over 16,000 tours and activities, so we’re dealing with a lot of data. They were great enough to be able to synthesize that data and get it into a format that’s digestible and that we can really wrap our arms around and build with. Working with Intuz has been great because they’re always ready to get on the phone at any time of the day or night, and they’re always willing to provide feedback. They’ve been really flexible in terms of the changes that we’ve made. I’d recommend that you look into using them.
