A Mobile Fitness App That Brings Desk Workouts to Your Screen

An artist and entrepreneur needed a mobile app to deliver short, animated physiotherapy and workout sessions to desk-bound users. Intuz built Phyzme for iOS and Android – with challenge tracking, subscriptions, and smart reminders built in.

WHAT WE BUILT

From Artistic Concept to a Fully
Functional Fitness App

Phyzme

Animated Exercise Delivery

The client needed animated video clips embedded directly into the app. We structured the content library so users can browse physiotherapy and workout videos by category and access them in short, manageable sessions without leaving their desk.

Challenge System with Progress Tracking

We built a challenge module that lets users accept structured workout challenges, track exercise completion, and unlock the next challenge after finishing the current one. Progress state is saved and visible at every step so users always know where they stand.

Subscription-Based Monetization

We implemented a subscription flow at $15/month that gates access to exercise categories and challenges, giving the client a direct revenue stream tied to content engagement.

Smart Reminders with Custom Scheduling

We built a reminder system that lets users set workout alerts by category, date, day of the week, and active hours. Reminders can be scheduled across multiple fitness categories – Yoga, Physiotherapy, and more – so the app fits around each user’s routine.

App Features

Everything Users Need to Stay
Active at Their Desk

Smart Reminders That Work Around You

Smart Reminders That Work Around You

We built a reminder system that gives users full control over when and how they work out. Users can select fitness categories, pick dates, set repeat days, and define active hours – all from a single scheduling screen. No generic push notifications – every alert is set by the user, for the user.

A Challenge System Built to Keep Users Moving

We designed a structured challenge module where users accept workout challenges and work through exercises in sequence. Each exercise shows its completion status – done, in progress, or yet to start – and the next one unlocks only after the current one is finished. It gives users a clear path forward every time they open the app.

CONTENT SUBSCRIPTION

Gated Access by Category

We tied content access to the subscription model. Users who subscribe at $15/month unlock full access to exercise categories including Physiotherapy and Yoga – keeping the client’s content library monetized without disrupting the user experience.

DISCOVERY FEATURED

Category-Based Content Browse

We built a Discover screen that organises all exercise content by category. Users can scroll through Physiotherapy, Yoga, and other sections, preview videos, and navigate directly to what they need – without any friction in the browsing flow.

ENGAGEMENT GAMIFICATION

Locked and Unlocked Exercise Progression

Exercises within each challenge are locked until the previous one is completed. We used visual lock indicators and status badges so users can see their progress at a glance and stay motivated to move through the full sequence.

SCHEDULING FLEXIBILITY

Multi-Category Reminder Stacking

Users are not limited to a single reminder. We built the scheduling system to support multiple active reminders across different fitness categories – so a user can have separate alerts for Yoga and Physiotherapy running at different times across the week.

DESIGN USER EXPERIENCE

Illustrated Characters and Visual Identity

We worked with the client’s animated character artwork and built it into the app’s visual language. The illustrated mentor character appears across challenges and content screens, giving Phyzme a distinct personality that sets it apart from standard fitness apps.

MONETIZATION BUSINESS MODEL

Subscription Flow with In-App Prompts

We built subscription prompts directly into the challenge and content access flow. When a user tries to access locked content, they are shown a clear subscribe option with pricing – turning every blocked interaction into a conversion opportunity for the client.
